Fremantle, Subiaco, Leederville and Mount Lawley are popular for their cafes and character. Crawley and Nedlands suit UWA students, Bentley suits Curtin, and Victoria Park is a good-value inner option.
Transperth trains, buses and ferries run on a SmartRider. Living close to a train line helps, as Perth is very spread out.
Major campuses include UWA (Crawley), Curtin University (Bentley), Murdoch University (Murdoch) and Edith Cowan University (Joondalup and Mount Lawley).

If you rent a room from an owner who lives there, you are usually a lodger or boarder, and standard tenancy laws may not apply, so agree the house rules, notice period and bond in writing. Our free roommate agreement can help.
